Recrugen ("we", "our", "us") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, share, and protect your personal data when you use recrugen.com. We comply with India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023 (DPDP Act) and applicable data protection laws.

1. Data We Collect

From Candidates:

Full name, email address, mobile number (including WhatsApp number)
Current and previous employment details, designations, experience
Salary information (current and expected CTC)
City, state, and willingness to relocate
Skills, certifications, education history
Resume / CV (uploaded by you)
Interview feedback, communication history with Employers via the Platform

From Employers:

Company name, registered address, industry, size
Contact person's name, email, mobile number
GSTIN, PAN, and billing details
Job postings and hiring preferences

Automatically collected:

IP address, browser type, device information
Pages visited, time spent, referral source
Cookies and similar tracking technologies (see Section 7)

2. How We Use Your Data

To run AI matching between Candidates and Job openings
To facilitate communication between Employers and Candidates (via email, WhatsApp, or in-app)
To process payments, generate GST-compliant invoices, and maintain billing records
To provide customer support and respond to queries
To improve our AI models, Platform features, and user experience
To comply with legal obligations under Indian law
To prevent fraud, abuse, and unauthorized access
To send service-related communications and (with your consent) marketing emails

3. Sharing Your Data

We share your data only as described below:

Between Candidates and Employers: We share Candidate profiles with Employers only after the Candidate has expressed interest in a specific role or has consented to outreach.
Service Providers: Trusted third-party vendors who help us operate the Platform — including Supabase (database hosting), Vercel (web hosting), Razorpay (payments), Resend (transactional email), Twilio (SMS/WhatsApp), and Meta (analytics).
Legal Compliance: When required by Indian law, court order, or government authority.
Business Transfers: If Recrugen is acquired or merged, your data may transfer to the new entity, subject to this Privacy Policy.

We do not sell your personal data to advertisers or third parties.

4. Data Retention

We retain Candidate and Employer data as long as your account remains active, and for a reasonable period thereafter for legal, accounting, and dispute resolution purposes (typically 3-7 years for invoices and financial records, as required under the Companies Act and GST law). You may request deletion at any time as described in Section 6.

5. Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures including encryption in transit (HTTPS/TLS), encryption at rest, access controls, row-level security on our database, and regular security audits. However, no system is 100% secure. You are responsible for keeping your account password confidential.

6. Your Rights (under DPDP Act 2023)

As a Data Principal, you have the following rights regarding your personal data:

Right to Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
Right to Correction: Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data.
Right to Erasure: Request deletion of your account and personal data, subject to legal retention requirements.
Right to Withdraw Consent: Withdraw consent for processing your data at any time. Note that withdrawal may affect our ability to provide services.
Right to Grievance Redressal: File a complaint with our Grievance Officer (Section 10).
Right to Nominate: Nominate another individual to exercise your rights in the event of your death or incapacity.

7. Cookies

We use cookies and similar tracking technologies for essential functionality (authentication, session management) and analytics (understanding how the Platform is used). You can control cookies through your browser settings. Disabling essential cookies will affect Platform functionality.

8. Children's Privacy

The Platform is not intended for users under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal data from minors. If you believe we have collected data from a minor, contact us immediately at privacy@recrugen.com.

9. International Data Transfers

Some of our service providers (such as Vercel and Supabase) may store data on servers located outside India. Where personal data is transferred outside India, we ensure equivalent protections under contractual safeguards. By using the Platform, you consent to such transfers.
